History of the Association for the Renewal of the Hungarian Public Health

Abstract

The series of events leading to the founding of the association was initiated in early autumn 2019 by an offer of support from the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Europe. At that time, József Vitrai, head of the Ministry's Public Health Department, referring to the WHO Health 2020 European Health Policy Framework document, suggested that the support could be used to establish and operate a Coalition of Partners (PE) aimed at improving children's health. At a workshop organized jointly by the WHO and the ministry at the end of September 2019, participants established the PE for improving children's health.
