Report: Avoidable mortality, risk factors and policies for tackling noncommunicable diseases leveraging data for impact

Keywords: avoidable mortality, risk factors, policies, noncommunicable diseases, Europe

Abstract

This report finds that Hungary unfortunately ranks alongside the CIS countries in the European Region in terms of both preventable and avoidable deaths. The report also points out that in 2023, about one-third of the countries in the European Region had not yet implemented policies and progress indicators to measure their results aimed at reducing noncommunicable diseases. Hungary is among these countries, which basically explains our unfavorable position in the ranking of various NCD health indicators.
