Article review: How does income inequality affect the structure, functioning, and mental health of adolescents' brains?
Abstract
The article is of key importance for all Hungarian psychologists, educators, social workers, and decision-makers, as it scientifically proves how income inequality causes measurable damage to adolescents' brain development and mental health. The research highlights that individual factors are not the only cause of increasing adolescent anxiety, behavioral disorders, and learning difficulties in Hungary. The real cause is chronic stress generated by social inequality and the resulting status anxiety.
