Abstract

The article analyses how to measure progress towards a wellbeing economy, distinguishing genuine advances from mere rhetorical commitments or ‘window dressing’. The authors propose six key principles to determine whether economic strategies truly enhance societal wellbeing: social justice, environmental sustainability, integration of health indicators, transparent decision-making, structural economic reform, and democratic participation. The study concludes that achieving a wellbeing economy requires not just new metrics but a fundamental rethinking of economic priorities and governance systems.
