Evaluation of rope rescue operations' basic equipments function

Abstract

The volunteer rescue organizations play more and more important role in Hungary and abroad, the most of their volunteer members gained their knowledge by doing extreme sports. The rescue organizations count seventeen-thousand volunteer members in Hungary who can rescue and earned National Classification. Numerous rescue organizations do height and depth rescue using rope-rescue equipments. To become a real expert of special rescues not enough for the organizations to learn the professional principles and international directives as such or to purchase the best equipments. The complete knowledge of manufacturers’ manuals is important to do safe rope-rescue related activities. The article analyses the safe usage of popular rope-rescue equipments and the individual manufacturers’ instructions, summarizes the general experiences.
