Eliminating the consequences of disasters for privately owned properties, with particular regard to land registry procedures

Abstract

The risk of damage is borne by the owner, however, the prevention of disasters, the organization of rescue and defense, the prevention and liquidation of their consequences, the restoration and reconstruction are the voluntary tasks of the Government within the framework of a discretionary decision. Regrettably, property owners do not always act impeccably from the point of view of their own properties, even though land registry entries and the accuracy of the data entered in the cartographic database also play a major role in eliminating the consequences of the disaster that has occurred. In the article, the authors discuss the aspects of damage mitigation and restoration and reconstruction, as well as why it is important to accurately indicate the floor plan of the building in the map database in the case of eliminating the consequences.
