Examination of useful fluid flow using centrifugal pumps
Abstract
Transportation of various liquids would be inconceivable without the use of pumps. Due to the technical development many types of pumps are available according to application requirements. These devices most often are utilized for transportation of water. Their application makes it possible to lift water deeper from the ground level, and at the same time to deliver lifted water to the desired location. Pumps are essential tools for fluid transport. There are some areas – such as fire-fighting – where their failure can lead to serious problems, therefore examination of their conditions of operation is a current issue. For better understanding of the topic and proper practical application of pumps the optimal operational conditions, particularly the useful fluid flow are examined in this paper. With our research we wish to draw attention to the risks of using modern pumps. Furthermore with our experience we wish to assist specialists performing operational tasks.
