Abstract
According to the latest epidemiological data the occurrence of oral squamous cell carcinoma has increased recently in the last 4 decades. In spite of the great emphasis and effort in the field of prevention, novel medication therapy, our knowledge has to be enlarged in the development of this serious disease. Recent conducted epidemiological studies and animal experiments have shown that there is a relationship between type-2 diabetes and oral squamous cell carcinoma. Our goal was to screen human saliva samples for possible biomarkers for oral malignancies in diabetic
patients.
