Absztrakt

Napjainkban a testmozgás, a testgyakorlatok egyénre gyakorolt jótékony fiziológiai, pszichológiai és pedagógiai hatását számos tudományterület igazolja, miként széles körben elfogadott az is, hogy a sport a társadalmi élet más területeihez képest könnyebben képes leküzdeni a nyelvi és kulturális korlátokat. Az Európa Tanács „Sportot mindenkinek” elnevezésű koncepciója úgy jeleníti meg a sportot és a rekreációt, mint egy olyan lehetőséget, amit mindenkinek, aki abban rész kíván venni, biztosítani kell, mégpedig tekintet nélkül társadalmi helyzetére, eredetére vagy fogyatékosságára. Mindezek ellenére a sport börtönkörnyezetben betöltött szerepe viszonylag kevés figyelmet kap.
