„Perfectus homo, perfectus puer”
The image of the child as a cornerstone for child protection
Abstract
Child protection begins with reflecting on and rethinking one’s image of children. In matters of faith, this involves the protection of children’s relationship with God which stems from the recognition of their dignity based on being made in the image of God. The Bible bears witness to this, among other things, by the fact that Jesus himself lived as a child. This study offers perspectives from the Lutheran theological tradition for rethinking our image of the child.
