“Per crucem ad lucem.” Through the cross to the light
Diseases of the Liver and Bile Ducts
Abstract
The book presents the full spectrum of diseases of the liver and biliary tract, structured not with textbook dryness but with clinical logic. The volume guides the reader from the anatomy of the liver, through the molecular basis and pathophysiology of liver function, to the most common clinical conditions—including viral hepatitis, immunological and metabolic diseases, toxic and drug-induced liver damage, as well as cirrhosis and its complications—all the way to focal liver diseases and the issues surrounding liver transplantation. The book review was presented at the 26th Gastroenterology Continuing Education Conference on January 31, 2026.
