Jókai's pavilion at the Paris world's fair
Abstract
The first report, titled “The Jókai Room at the Paris Exhibition,” appeared in the *Pesti Napló*, announcing the event as follows: “A separate room is being set up in the Hungarian section of the World’s Fair, dedicated exclusively to showcasing Jókai’s literary work. All of the great poet’s works will be exhibited there in decorative bindings, not only in the original Hungarian but also in all the languages of the world into which Jókai has been translated. In addition, the albums, congratulatory letters, and memorabilia that Mór Jókai received on the occasion of his fiftieth anniversary as a writer will be displayed here. Jókai is currently writing a description of Hungary for the official Hungarian catalog. The catalog will be published in four languages. In mid-May, the poet will also travel to Paris with his wife to view the exhibition.”
