The quality of life of patients with food allergies
Abstract
Patients with food allergies face many limitations in their daily lives. The symptoms are not only unpleasant but can even be life-threatening. The examination is often complicated, the findings are not always clear-cut, and only a qualified health care professional (allergologist, dietetician) can advise a correct diet. Providing an allergen-free diet requires extra time and money, limits the free time of the patients and their family, and the fear of symptoms occurring can cause anxiety or depression. Compared to the quality of life of people with food intolerance, those with food allergies were found to be worse in all cases.
