Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
    Please attach the images in jpg format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses). All illustrations, figures and tables should be placed at the end of the text, but indicate their place within the text.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS

We ask our authors to prepare the manuscript according to the following guidelines:

In accordance with the international standard, the guideline for the length of the article is as follows:

Article text 6–12 pages, case reports 3–8 pages, references as necessary, but preferably no more than 15–20 items.

The condition for submitting a manuscript is that

  1. the article was approved by the head of the institute or head of department,
  2. the article does not violate the provisions of the Declaration of Helsinki (1975, revision 2008),
  3. the human examinations were carried out with the approval of the competent ethics committee,
  4. laboratory animal experiments were carried out according to the relevant regulations.

The following should be written on the first page of the manuscript:

Affiliation (hospital, department; university, clinic); Title; Full name of the author(s); Summary (maximum of 20 typed lines containing the essential part of the article; English title, Abstract; Keywords based on the subject headings of PUBMED-MEDLINE (Medical Subjects Headings, the source of which can be found here: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/ ; Abbreviations and references should not be in the summary. Footnote (supports, in whose honor it was prepared, circumstances related to the publication);

Please provide the corresponding author's name, ORCID code, address, and other contact information at the end of the article. The ORCID code can be checked here by entering the name in the search field: https://orcid.org/ If you do not have an ORCID code yet, you must register here in a few short steps. This enables the international identification of authors.

The structure of the article should be as follows:

Introduction; Materials and methods; Results; Discussion; References (the authors mentioned in the text must be cited). Please also cite Hungarian authors (primarily articles published in our journal)!

Medical spelling: Please do not describe the same word in multiple ways. Abbreviations are given in parentheses after the first full description of the concept, and the abbreviated form is used from now on.

Figures, tables: Please attach the figures inserted into the text and also in digital format. Figures and tables must be given titles and serial numbers. Figures are numbered in Arabic and tables in Roman numerals in the order of mention in the text.

The references must be given in alphabetical order of the authors, numbered, and each item written in a separate paragraph. In the text of the manuscript, the reference should be made by entering the number of the given item in round brackets.

The citation format should be recommended by PubMed ("Cite").

Journal article: Author/s: (last name, initials of first name, no comma within the name, only between names): Address. Journal (the international abbreviation of the name of the journal must be used based on PUBMED, if there is none, the full name must be written). Year of publication, volume number, page number in round brackets: page numbers (first and last). For example: Michet CJ 3rd, Schleck CD, Larson DR, Maradit Kremers H, Berry DJ, Lewallen DG. Cause-Specific Mortality Trends Following Total Hip and Knee Arthroplasty. J Arthroplasty. 2017 32(4):1292-1297.

Book: Author(s), (if editor, in round brackets, abbreviated in the given language): Title, subtitle. (Volume number). Issue (if applicable). Place. Publisher. Year. Page number. For example: Rivière C, Vendittoli PA, editors. Personalized Hip and Knee Joint Replacement. Cham (CH): Springer; 2020. 350 p.

Book chapter: Author of the chapter: Title of the chapter. In: The author of the book, if not the same as the author of the chapter (if an editor, in round brackets, abbreviated in the given language), the title of the book, serial number, first place of publication, publisher, year, starting and ending page numbers of the chapter. For example: Piriou P, Sullivan J (2020). Reproducing the Proximal Femur Anatomy Using Neck Anchorage Stem Design. In: Rivière, C., Vendittoli, PA. (eds) Personalized Hip and Knee Joint Replacement. Springer, Cham. 45-52. p.
