Abstract

Research on the relationship between mental health and mental health literacy is still in its infancy in Hungary. Nonetheless, mental health literacy is an essential factor in preventing increasingly prevalent mental disorders. People suffering from mental disorder may struggle with symptom identification, fighting the stigma, and seeking sufficient help. In this study we present the definition and components of mental health literacy, the research conducted on mental health literacy assessment, and ways of improving help-seeking attitudes and behavior.
