Impacts of inmate employment in terms of detention security
Abstract
The topic of this study is to present the relationship between prison security and inmate employment. Can there be 100% security during detention? Can the two priority tasks be carried out with equal efficiency or is there an inverse proportionality between the two tasks? In my study, I outline the paramount importance of both task, namely the inmate employment and the detention security. Achieving a 100% inmate employment rate is a key objective for the Hungarian Prison Service, which also justifies the importance of this topic. I will examine whether there can be 100% security and 100% employment. What is priority, employment or security? Neither area can work without the other; however can reduce each other’s effectiveness in certain cases.
