Fees and Community Contribution

Readers

There are no fees or charges for readers to access any article published in APIS.
All content is freely available online under a Gold Open Access model.

Authors

APIS operates on a community-driven, non-profit basis, where authors, reviewers, and editors collectively sustain the publication process.

Authors are expected to contribute to this scholarly community by participating in the peer review process within their field of expertise whenever possible.
This mutual exchange of time and knowledge supports a fair and sustainable publication system independent of financial background.

Authors should prepare their manuscripts in accordance with the journal’s formatting and ethical guidelines.
In the final editing stage, only minor corrections are made in the annotated PDF version to minimize editorial workload.

Article Processing Charges (APCs)

For essential technical and administrative services that cannot be covered by volunteer work — including DOI registration, OJS hosting, and long-term archiving — APIS applies the following flat, non-refundable APCs:

€100 APC — general submissions

€300 APC — studies directly related to specifically named, commercially available products, where additional verification or handling costs may be required

Important: APC payments have no influence on editorial decisions, peer review, or manuscript acceptance. They are used exclusively to support the journal’s non-profit, community-driven publishing infrastructure.
