About the Journal
APIS is an international Gold Open Access journal dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge on bees and bee-related systems.
Aims and Scope
The journal publishes interdisciplinary research covering biological, environmental, chemical, ecological, and applied aspects of honey bees (Apis mellifera) and other pollinator species. Contributions may address fundamental research, applied science, and the interface between research and professional practice, including apitherapy.
All research submissions undergo rigorous double-blind peer review by independent experts. Editorial decisions are based solely on scientific merit, methodological soundness, and relevance.
APIS is published by a non-profit civil organization (Hungarian Apitherapy Society) and operates independently, without commercial or corporate funding. All published articles are freely accessible worldwide without subscription or access fees.
To support essential operational costs — including DOI registration, hosting, and platform maintenance — a modest submission fee is applied. This fee does not influence editorial decisions or peer review.
