The operational and service-improvement experience of the 100a railway line
Abstract
The 100a (Budapest-Cegléd-Szolnok) railway line is the most used railway line regarding passanger numbers. The state of the railway line posed several problems for both the operator and passanger service railway companies. Due to several smaller and bigger steps the punctiality of the line improved and the level of service was raised: reallocation of train types, partial track reconstruction, operational changes. The basic punctuality datas are not sufficient to measure the overall service level and operational problems. There are several types of data that can be used instead to help the professional staff of railway companies to analyse.
