The Impact of Conditional Stops on Timetable Stability
Abstract
The effect of conditional stops on railway timetable structure is worth examining from several aspects. The flexible element integrated into the fixed system raises additional possibilities while improving schedule regularity. The article demonstrates, based on the evaluation of annual delay data and OpenTrack simulation analysis, that even the current system without departure signal equipment improves timetable regularity and results in social benefits.
