The guidelines, objectives and admissibility of the eu’s strategic action plan on road safety for the period 2021-2030
Abstract
The European Union's Strategic Action Plan on Road Safety for the period 2011-2020 is nearing completion and a new programme for the period 2021-2030 is underway. Following the 2019 EU Parliamentary elections, the European Parliament has continued its work in a new composition and will adopt the 2030 Agenda as such. The priorities of the new European Road Safety Program were identified by the so-called VALLETTA DECLARATION. Subsequently, the ETSC compiled the main road safety prevention tasks of the planned strategic programme and provided information to the incoming European Parliament on the importance of improving road safety and the guidelines to be followed in the long term. The "Action Plan" (programme) and its financial and other terms will ultimately be defined and adopted by the new European Parliament.
