The theory and practice of choosing the proper safety distance - an analysis of the safety distance keeping habits of drivers, as observed on Hungarian expressways
Abstract
Over the last few years, the favourable trend of road accident numbers in the previous decade has been broken and, in this context, it is important to draw attention to the fact that non-compliance with the safety distance requirements on expressways is a serious risk factor for accidents. In addition to presenting the Austrian and German traffic regulation and sanctioning solutions related to the topic, the study was prepared by collecting a wide range of domestic data primarily by the National Toll Payment Services Plc. and by basing the conclusions and results on a high-level analysis.
