Abstract

The AMR EDUCare (Education on antimicrobial resistance for the health workforce) project, led by HCWH Europe and involving 8 EU Member States, aims to fill the knowledge and skills gaps among health workers on responsible prescribing of antimicrobials, the treatment of antimicrobial waste, and to improve health professionals' communication skills to support patients to  better manage expectations related to antimicrobial prescribing. The educational materials developed by the project will also focus on increasing digital literacy and changing behaviour of the health workforce (attitudes to antibiotic use).

The training is targeted at doctors, nurses, community pharmacists and health managers, with tailored training to meet the needs of each work group.

Training is developed in collaboration with European and national health professional associations. Courses will be available on an online learning platform in 6 languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Greek, Hungarian and Lithuanian, with additional face-to-face training sessions led by qualified trainers in the project countries.

Hungary is represented in the project by the Hungarian Healthcare Management Association with the development of the training methodology.
