About the Journal

Cognitive Sustainability (CogSust) is an open access double-blind peer-reviewed scientific, internationally listed, opinion-leading, interdisciplinary journal. Its mission is to enrich and revitalize the scientific community through collaboration and synergies between different disciplines, to present the results of research topics that span the dimensions of sustainability, and to help position innovative and multidisciplinary topics.

Cognitive Sustainability investigates the links between the research areas of sustainability and cognitive sciences. Sustainability may initially be interpreted as an environmental issue or, more broadly, as an engineering challenge, but it can in fact be approached from many other disciplinary perspectives.

The key aim of CogSust is to provide a holistic view of how sustainability, in its broader sense, can be understood, described (modeled), and optimized for human value creation through the tools of cognitive sciences. This approach fosters a deeper integration of artificial and biological cognitive systems with engineering applications.

The journal operates as an open-access publication. The publishing process is covered by Article Publication Charges (APCs) of 300 EUR (+27% VAT), payable upon acceptance and prior to publication in the Online First section. This fee covers all costs of the review process, system maintenance, web publication, and long-term archiving.
