Abstract
In our research, we investigated the surface cover of the Karcsa Lake, a relic of the former Tisza riverbed, by digitising and evaluating images from several dates (1966, 2000, 2005, 2007, 2011, 2020) over the past 50 years. In addition to monitoring the changes in land cover over the past decades, our results have been used to draw conclusions about the extent to which the lake environment may be pressuring the lake and the proportion of ecologically valuable areas. By evaluating the above, we can draw conclusions about the future of a valuable lake.
