Revision of the draft Red List of Hungarian macrofungi, based on the example of lepiotoid fungi
Abstract
Regional Red Lists play a pivotal role in the conservation assessment of macrofungi; however, in Hungary no such official Red List currently exists. The most recent Red List proposal of Hungarian macrofungi dates back to 1999, and a review of its methodology and content has since become necessary. In this study, we present an up-to-date Red List proposal covering 98 lepiotoid species; unlike the previous genus-level approach, we evaluate each species individually, incorporating current taxonomic knowledge, and classify them according to the internationally accepted IUCN system.
