Ecosystem services of dipterans
Abstract
Research on ecosystem services is one of the most prominent fields in ecology today. Many look at ecosystem services as a tool to convey the value of certain species to stakeholders. We often narrow down services provided by insects to pollination by honey bees, but the other insect orders including dipterans should not be neglected in this respect. This article discusses the useful activities of flies and mosquitoes for people.
