Independent University Journals in Pécs in the Second Half of the 1980s

Keywords: alternative public sphere, student journals, samizdat

Abstract

In the culture of the eighties, the university press represented a particular transition between the first and second public spheres, between the legal press and samizdat. The periodicals, edited by autonomous groups of university students, formed a specific register of the alternative culture of the time, dealing with cultural and literary phenomena that were mostly outside the scope of the official cultural press.
