Main directions of the Hungarian transport strategy for the next generation
Abstract
A significant characteristic of sectoral strategies is that they plan for a longer period of 20-30 years. This is an advantage, because achieving the goals set by the strategies takes more time, but it is also a disadvantage, because the technical development of the target date for implementation is unknown. Further questions are raised by the fact that in many cases the creators will not be users, i.e. the strategies are being prepared for the next generations. The article examines the results of workshops held as the initial step of a novel strategy-making process in the case of the renewable transport strategy currently being prepared in Hungary, the synthesis of which – breaking with the traditional sub-sectoral approach – defines guidelines for a medium-term transport concept prepared for the next generation.

The journal archives all published articles, and the journal's owner, the Hungarian Society of Transportation Sciences, will continue to operate the database even if the journal ceases to be published.
