The tactical aspects of court escort – From planning to execution

Abstract

At the beginning of my study, I clarify the concepts of action and tactics, thereby creating the theoretical foundation on which the subsequent practical chapters are built. I then discuss how thoughtful and systematic information collection supports effective planning and facilitates safe execution. Using the example of a court escort, I detail the tactical elements – information gathering, preparation and development of an escort plan – that enable fast, coordinated, and professional task execution. I also review the tasks of participants involved in the escort, as well as the factors that pose a high security risk. This demonstrates that the precise definition of roles and responsibilities fundamentally influences the safety of the escort.
