Challenges of the Prison Services during the COVID-19 pandemic

Abstract

Outbreak of the COVID-19 world pandemic has brought basic and unprecedented challenges to domestic and foreign prison services. The pandemic entered the closed world of prisons more slowly yet nevertheless it reshaped their operation. The epidemic has great impact on inmates’ rights and obligations, employment and health care. All those issues have been successfully solved by the Hungarian Prison Service even in an international comparison. My study analyses these issues.
