The spread of artificial intelligence in Prison Service

– The examination of tools and activities underpinning the introduction of artificial intelligence in support of prison security

Abstract

The key to the successful Prison Service is never manifested in one person, device or activity. Equally important are the efficient security and the effective reintegration; it is necessary to add a cooperating inmate and a trained, prepared personnel. But there is something that can be done to get efficiency, effectiveness and preparedness right: and that is technology. In my study I try to examine those tools that support prison security and whose technological background predicts the introduction of artificial intelligence and prepares the environment for its applicability. I wish to present the currently used systems by which efficiency and automation are achieved in both prison security and reintegration as well.
