Abstract
At the end of last year the Correctional Department of the National University of Public Service (NUPS), Faculty of Law Enforcement successfully applied to a government-based project: “Public Service Development – Establishing Good Governance”. The correctional researchers invited other lecturers from different Faculties of NUPS and other Hungarian and foreign universities and the Hungarian Prison Administration as partners; and eventually they have established the Correctional Ludovika Advantaged Research Workshop. The project focuses on opportunities to improve tasks related to national public security in the field of tertiary crime prevention. The contribution consists of the education of reintegration officers in order to prevent released prisoners from committing further crimes and enabling them to lead an independent and law-abiding life. The aim of the project is parallel with Act CCXL of 2013 (Code of Law Enforcement), because the successful reintegration of inmates appears to be of great importance. The essay summarises all information about the official opening of the project (International Kick-off Meeting); the schedule of the programme (4 milestones), the characteristics of the researches and the deliverables (3 university handbook, 5 monographs, 14 papers/articles).
