Veszélyes fiatalok vagy fiatalok veszélyben?

Abstract

Between 2012 and 2014 criminologist researchers from the Legal Department of Tilburg University (The Netherlands) started a large-scale research aiming to analyze whether there is a difference between ethnic groups and native Dutch families as far as family abused children are considered. Researchers also wanted to know whether there is a relation between violent infringers and abuse in these groups. This latter aspect of the research was extended to an international level and in the summer of 2014 we were asked to join in and represent the Hungarian party. In the Hungarian research we examined the proportion to which young offenders coming from abusing families are present in the law-enforcement institutions, what kind of crimes they have committed and whether there is a pattern to be found in the type of the crime or in the way it was committed. Taking into consideration the relations we have found, the solutions suggested by the international researches as well as our home relations we have worked out a system of means and methods for the staff working in the law-enforcement institutions. Through this we are hoping to foster a more efficient reintegration for these youngsters.
