Risk Analysis Systems in the Prison Service

Abstract

The aim of the study is to provide a comprehensive overview of the historical, conceptual background and the theoretical basics of modern risk analysis systems, the main directions of practical implementation and international practice of the classification schemes. In addition to the above the study presents the Hungarian Prisoner Classification and Risk Analysis System, its main development directions, and the Predictive Inventories Tool, that is gradually being developed and expanded in the Hungarian Prisons. In addition to the analytical point of view, the reader may also become familiar with the main elements of the risk management system, providing a brief outlook for dealing with a very special group of inmates, the sexual offenders.
