Recommendations and possible directions for the development of the reintegration officers‘ specialized education

Abstract

In my paper I present one of the priority tasks of the Hungarian Prison Service, the operation of the mother&child prison nursery unit. I describe the operation of the unit providing joint placement for the prisoner mother and her infant child, the significance, the development and the actors involved in this. I have examined the process and the efficiency of this timely and important task of the Hungarian Prison Service by descriptive, analytical and systematic method. My goal was to investigate how the Hungarian Prison Service was and is able to fulfil this duty. I describe the efficiency and the results of the regime currently in operation and also present possible ways and opportunities to develop the efficient implementation of the co-placement of the inmate mothers and their children.
