Prosecutorial supervision and judicial protection of the enforcement of penal law

Abstract

In my study, I provide a short overview of the prosecutorial supervision of the enforcement of penal law. I touch upon the features and elements of the law-based assurance system that ensures penal law enforcement. I give a brief draft of the legal background of the prosecutorial supervision of penal law enforcement and analyse the characteristics and roles of prosecutorial supervision of penal law enforcement within the legal system. I introduce the specific activities of prosecutors dealing with the implementation and execution of punishments and highlight the categories of the execution of imprisonment sentences, afterwards, by using statistical data, I emphasise changes that have occurred in the past years which have led to a significant increase in prosecutors’ workload dealing with the execution of punishments.
