Family patterns in the development of addictions
Abstract
In our study, we mainly examine the socialization effect of families with deviant lifestyles on children, with particular regard to addictions. In our examination we also took into account the qualitative data previously obtained from the life histories of female prisoners. In addition to interviews, we used a questionnaire method to examine adolescents who have undergone early family or personal trauma through their own subjective experiences. In our non-representative study descriptive statistics have been used. We looked for connections between childhood traumas and addictions later in youth. Based on our results, we can conclude that in the studied sample, the family milieu and parental lifestyle had a strong influence on emerging addictions in youth.
