Cooperation of the Hungarian Prison Service with the Operational Staff
Abstract
The management of the new coronavirus epidemic situation required close collaboration between different stakeholders of government agencies. The Operational Staff responsible for the Prevention of the Coronavirus Epidemic was established to coordinate the diversified system of tasks, and as its working body, a duty centre was established. The activities of the individual organizations had to be constantly monitored in the duty centre, so we also received detailed information about the work of the Hungarian Prison Service Headquarters. Protecting the health of prisoners and preventing the outbreak of the epidemic in the prisons was a huge challenge in itself. However, this organization was also tasked with building a temporary epidemic hospital, manufacturing hospital supplies and medical protective equipment. This complex task could only be accomplished successfully with the cooperation of the organizations involved in the protection. The Hungarian Prison Service has provided exemplary performance in this unprecedented challenge.
