Planning of species management programmes, umbrella- and flagship-species conservation
Abstract
Nature conservation interventions are usually carried out according to well-planned programmes. Among these, the endangered species management programmes have an overriding importance. Workable plans require reconciliation of the social and economical interests besides the professional demands. Species management programmes have to be well established by species management plans, which contain the methods of the necessary interventions and the timing of the programme. The international and national species management programmes have been carried out in a different professional level, and therefore they had different success. This work discusses the results, experiences and suggestions connected to the planning of species management programmes.
