Abstract

Orthopteran assemblages of the natural and semi-natural grasslands of the Bakony Region were researched. 656 samples (collected by sweep-netting) of 43 sampling areas were used for the analyses. Based on the results Orthopteran assemblages of the Bakony Region are related to the following habitat-types: (1) Calcareous fens, drying fens and marshy meadows; (2) Hayfields; (3) Semi-dry grasslands; (4) Open sandy grasslands; (5) Scrubby semi-dry grasslands; (6) Closed dry grasslands; (7) Open dry grasslands, rocky grasslands. It is confirmed in a new geographical region that natural and semi-natural habitats having similar structural features are characterized by Orthopteran assemblages with similar composition and naturalness – independently from their geographical situation. Based on the above facts, shaping successful global conservational strategies is possible.
