The half-century old Museum for Water Management

Abstract

The first official name of the institution was the Hungarian Water Museum. When the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Water Management was established in 1987, a year later - with the expansion of the scope - the official name became the Hungarian Environmental and Water Museum. However, this name, which has been valid until now, was not well understood and popular by the target audience, so in the 1990s, the name Duna Museum was more commonly used in public circulation.
