Zsigmond P. Károlyi and the historiography of the water management in the Dégen-era
Abstract
The economic and technical historian, Zsigmond P. Károlyi is considered to be an outstanding representative of Hungarian professional historiography. A significant part of his work was related to the era marked by Imre Dégen's name. Imre Dégen, as a director of water affairs entrusted Zsigmond P. Károlyi with the creation of a historical research group in 1967. This paper examines P. Károlyi's work as a specialist historian through his articles published in the journal Water Management from the early 1960’s to the middle of 1970’s.
