Abstract

Similar to the preceding and the following ones, in the decade of the 1970s the armed forces of Hungary were characterized by continuous reorganization, shaping the suitable rate between the categories of staff, their qualitative improvement, cadre supply and the rejuvenation of the leaders. The pregnant deterioration of the international circumstances, and the acceleration of the armament modernisation in the second half of the decade required strength of well-awared officers and NCOs. Covering of this demand – because of demographical, financial, and labour market malfunction – forced the competents into insolvable situation, which had to cleared up. By virtue of showed documents – not by a long incomplete – frame can be created about the arrangements as well as their achievements and failures.
