Absztrakt

The migration of health care professionals is a global phenomenon and is discussed exten­ sively in the scientific literature. However, the approaches and theoretical backgrounds of the analyses are extremely diverse. The starting points and points of view of the research affect the results, thus analysing them can provide valuable insights regarding research gaps, future research directions and the limitations of the published studies. In this paper, the approaches and theoretical underpinnings of the international literature on the migration of health profes­ sionals are examined. For data collection, a systematic literature review has been conducted, using the Scopus bibliographic database. The analysis focused on what kind of theories appear in the records of the sample, particularly migration theories, and how these theories are applied. In addition, the publication dynamics of the records in the sample, the geographical scales and places highlighted in these articles, and the data sources and methods used in them have also been investigated.
