The importance of skin care for healthy and sick skin in childhood
Abstract
Skin care is especially important for babies and children with diseased skin, but it is also significant for healthy people. As life progresses, it also becomes important for the elderly. Large knowledge accumulates about the microbial components of the skin flora while the greatest challenge for medicine is the increase of bacterial resistant flora. It is worth reviewing again and again the available options for the body moisturisers. In addition to the cleansing effect, the moisturizing function and the protective effect are important. Countless excellent skin care products are available, including a product which contains oatmeal and has been used in other countries for years with good results. Due to its chemical polymorphism, oats (Avena sativa) are known to have several beneficial effects in the treatment of atopic dermatitis. In addition to its cleansing, moisturising, soothing and anti-itching properties, it has also been shown to act as a buffering system, helping to restore the skin's normal pH and mikrobiome. It has antioxidant, UV absorption and anti-inflammatory effects, too.
