Cutaneous pathological aspects of biological and targeted therapies in daily practice

Abstract

Biological and targeted therapies are the most up-todate treatment modalities in numerous inflammatory and neoplastic cutaneous diseases however they can induce adverse events. Among them skin adverse reactions are
very frequent and can draw the attention to other organ’s involvement. Skin symptoms are variable and not specific for the causative agent. Lichenoid and maculopapulous reactions, psoriasiform dermatitis, autoimmune skin disease, vitiligo and granulomatous reaction can all be developed. In order to establish the proper histological diagnosis pathologist should be aware of the treatment and the possible skin symptoms caused by it. Authors describe such cutaneous adverse reactions through case presentations.
