The Role of Environmental Awareness in Tourism
Abstract
Environmental education fosters the development of environmentally conscious individuals and children who recognize which unique natural treasures are worth preserving, appreciate the significant responsibility involved in nature conservation, and embrace the task of dedicating their time and energy—day in and day out—to this cause, acknowledging that nature is the key to the future.
In my study, I used secondary research to examine sustainability-related best practices applicable to festivals and events, aiming to reduce environmental impact while ensuring that crowds can still enjoy themselves.
Through a questionnaire-based survey, I investigated perceptions regarding the importance of environmental consciousness, both in general and specifically within the tourism sector. Analyzing the responses provided insights into the environmental awareness of festival and event attendees, as well as the factors contributing to the success of "greening" initiatives.
