Abstract

Grounded theory is a procedure based on empirical data, elaborated to create mezo theories generated through systematic methodological steps from the data. In my study I present this cognitive and methodological approach which is little known in Hungary and is generally used in qualitative research. I also cover the historical changes and development trends of this methodology, of significance not only as information on the history of science but also for the light it throws on the differing paradigms of scientific investigation.
