Evagriosz Pontikosz levele Melániához
Absztrakt
The letters of the so-called desert fathers present a unique source for the study of the spirituality and theology of Egyptian monasticism in the 4th century. The most numerous collection of letters has been preserved under the name of Evagrius of Pontus. The last piece of this corpus - available only in ancient Syriac translation and known in the tradition as ”The (Great) Letter to Melania” - is of particular interest from a dogmatic theological aspect. In this article, we present this early witness of Christian mysticism which is permeated by ele- ments of Neoplatonic philosophy and Origenist theology, and we also provide a first amply annotated Hungarian translation.
